Peaceful rallies held across Azad Kashmir on 26 January to protest India’s occupation and assert Kashmiri right to self-determination.

On 26 January, people in Azad Kashmir observed Black Day and organized peaceful rallies across various regions to reiterate their demand for freedom. The day is marked as Black Day to protest against India’s so-called Republic Day. Large crowds participated in the rallies, showing unity and solidarity for the Azad Kashmiri cause.

During the rallies, participants strongly condemned India’s occupation of Azad Kashmir. They said there is no legal or moral justification for India’s control over the region. People emphasized that they do not accept rule imposed by force and weapons. They further stated that India cannot be considered a democratic country because it revoked the special status of Kashmir on 5 August 2019.

Participants also criticized the celebration of democracy by a country that commits violence and injustice against Kashmiris. The rallies reflected the unity of the people of Azad Kashmir and their firm stance on the right to self-determination. Participants emphasized that India cannot hide its actions of violating political, constitutional, and human rights of the Kashmiri people from the world.
