The 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) is set to make history by introducing Pashto commentary for the first time, adding a new layer of regional inclusivity for cricket fans.

The special commentary feed will begin during Peshawar Zalmi’s remaining matches in the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League.

This development comes after Peshawar Zalmi signed an agreement with a private digital platform that will stream the franchise’s remaining PSL 11 matches with Pashto-language commentary.

The initiative is expected to strengthen fan engagement among Pashto-speaking audiences and marks a significant step toward making the Pakistan Super League more accessible to diverse regional audiences. Notably, Peshawar Zalmi won their maiden PSL title in 2017 and continue to maintain a strong fan base across Pakistan.

Peshawar Zalmi are guaranteed to play at least two more matches in the ongoing eight-team Pakistan Super League season.

The table-toppers are set to face three-time champions Islamabad United in the Qualifier at National Bank Stadium on Tuesday.

A win in the Qualifier will send Peshawar Zalmi directly to the final. However, if they lose, they will still have another opportunity by facing the winner of Eliminator 1 between Multan Sultans and Hyderabad Kingsmen in the third playoff.

The PSL 11 final is scheduled to take place on Sunday at Gaddafi Stadium, where the tournament will crown its new champion.

The introduction of Pashto commentary marks another major step toward improving fan engagement in the Pakistan Super League and making the tournament more accessible to diverse audiences across Pakistan.

The ongoing edition has already introduced a separate Urdu commentary feed for the first time, reflecting the league’s broader strategy to connect with regional viewers in their preferred languages.

Speaking at a joint press conference in February alongside Walee Technologies’s Ahsan Tahir, Salman Naseer highlighted the initiative by saying:

“We have already agreed on some things that we will do for their engagement. So one element in that is, one channel will be dedicated, in which all the commentary and feed will be in Urdu.”

With the addition of both Urdu and Pashto commentary options, the Pakistan Super League continues expanding its reach and strengthening its connection with local cricket fans.
