Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemns G7 statement and highlights Israel’s involvement in recent violence

Tehran calls the G7 statement interventionist, urging foreign powers to respect Iran’s sovereignty and stop inciting violence.

Tehran: The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has described the recent statement by the G7 statement countries as interventionist and stated that there is undeniable evidence of Israel’s involvement in violence and terrorism in Iran.

In a statement issued by the Ministry, it was said that peaceful protests in Iran were turned violent by Zionist-backed terrorists. Between January 8 and 10, attacks were carried out on protesters and security personnel. According to the Ministry, there is undeniable evidence of Israel’s role in this violence and terrorism, and statements by U.S. and Israeli officials serve as clear proof of incitement.

The Ministry emphasized that Iran respects the right to peaceful protest, adheres to citizens’ rights under the Constitution, and bears full responsibility for protecting its citizens and maintaining law and order. It also affirmed that national security would be defended against externally-sponsored terrorism.

Iranian officials said that the G7 statement on Iran’s internal affairs is interventionist, exposing the double standards of the U.S.-led G7 statement in the name of human rights. They added that G7 statement countries themselves have been responsible for serious human rights violations.

“Foreign powers should respect Iran’s sovereignty and stop framing internal protests as international crises.”

The Ministry also highlighted that G7 statement nations are directly complicit with Israel in the genocide of the Palestinian people and therefore have no moral authority to lecture anyone on human rights. Iran’s statement warned that the Iranian nation will not forget the civilian casualties caused by Israeli attacks in 2025.

Furthermore, the Iranian Ministry called on the G7 statement to stop illegal interference in Iran’s internal affairs, lift unlawful sanctions, and refrain from using human rights as a political tool. Encouraging violence and terrorism under the guise of human rights, the Ministry stated, is unacceptable.
