US President Donald Trump claims he is interim president of Venezuela after a US military operation captured Nicolás Maduro, but his claim has no official recognition.
Following a US strike and capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, US President Donald Trump declared himself “acting president,” a claim not recognized by Venezuela or any global authority.
US President Donald Trump suddenly said that he is the interim president of Venezuela. He made this known to everyone on his social media account Truth Social with a photo. In this photo, Trump also showed US Vice President JD Vance as the vice president of Venezuela.
But the fact is that this is not true. No government or international organization in the world recognizes it. Trump is not listed as president on the Venezuelan official website or even on Wikipedia.

No country or leader can claim power over another nation without global recognition and international law.

This all happened after a US military operation. The US military arrested Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and brought him to New York. He was charged with drug trafficking and other crimes.
Trump said at a press conference that the action was an example of American strength. He also said that until a new political order is established in Venezuela, the United States will oversee the country’s affairs.
Maduro went to court and said he was not guilty and denied the charges.
The United Nations also questioned the entire incident. They said that this operation does not seem legal. This is the largest US military operation in Latin America since 1989.
