The deadly Gul Plaza fire in Karachi prompted grief and criticism from Mufti Taqi Usmani and Jamaat-e-Islami over delayed response and weak safety systems.
The fire at Gul Plaza in Karachi was a very sad incident. Many people were hurt and many people lost their lives. This fire did not only burn a building. It also hurt many families. Many people lost their shops and their hard work of many years. Everyone felt very sad after this accident.
Mufti Taqi Usmani, a famous religious scholar, talked about this fire. He said Karachi is a very big city, but still the fire could not be controlled on time. He said this is very worrying. He said a proper investigation is very important so people can know why help came late.
Mufti Taqi Usmani said many innocent people died because help did not reach them quickly. He said this is very painful for the whole country. Many shopkeepers were not rich people. They worked day and night in their shops. Now their shops are gone and they have no income.

He also said that the government must protect people and keep them safe. This is the government’s duty. He thanked those brave people who tried to save others during the fire. He prayed for the people who died in Gul Plaza tragedy and asked Allah to give patience to their families.
Muneem Zafar Khan, the leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, also spoke about the fire. He said Karachi is the business city of Pakistan. Even then, the fire was not controlled for many hours. He said this shows very poor planning and weak systems.
He said it was very sad to see families standing outside the building. They were crying and waiting for their loved ones. Some people were still trapped inside. Many people were injured. Shopkeepers were watching their shops burn and could do nothing.

Muneem Zafar Khan said a big city should have good fire engines, water, and safety tools. If these things are missing, it means the system is broken. He said corruption and carelessness are big reasons for such accidents.
At the end, he said rescue work should be faster. Injured people should get good treatment in hospitals. People who are responsible should be punished. He said Jamaat-e-Islami is standing with the families who are suffering.
