Rescue operations continue in Saddar as death toll rises and dozens remain missing after Gul Plaza tragic fire.
Rescue operations are ongoing at Gul Plaza in Saddar following the devastating fire that broke out on Saturday night. Authorities continue search efforts as families wait anxiously for news about their loved ones.
According to official sources, 28 people have lost their lives in the tragic incident. A total of 74 missing persons have been confirmed, while 18 individuals are still unaccounted for as rescue teams continue their operation.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has taken a strong stance on the matter. He said that if the Gul Plaza case file is closed after routine procedures without any concrete outcome, he will resign from his position.
The Governor stated that the committee formed to investigate the incident will thoroughly review the case to ensure accountability and transparency.
Speaking emotionally about the tragedy, Governor Tessori said:
“If the file of the Gul Plaza tragedy was meant to be closed, then I would resign.”
He further added:
“The punishment that Allah will give us in the grave, that you were placed in positions of authority, yet you kept playing with people’s lives.”
