Light rain was seen in almost all areas of Karachi early Wednesday morning due to a westerly wave affecting the region, according to the Met Office.
The highest rainfall recorded was 6mm in Keamari. This was followed by 5mm at PAF Masroor Base (Mauripur). North Karachi and Nazimabad received 3mm each, while Korangi and PAF Faisal Base recorded 2mm of rain each.
Met Office focal person Anjum Niaz Zaigham stated that there is no likelihood of further rainfall in the city, although cloudy weather is expected to persist. He also added that after January 4–5, temperatures in Karachi could drop to single digits because of cold Siberian winds.
The Met Office has predicted dry weather with cool nights for Thursday, with the minimum temperature expected to be between 13°C and 15°C. On Wednesday, the minimum temperature recorded was 14.5°C.
