The Sindh High Court has ordered that a food street on a service road in Korangi, Karachi must be closed. The court said it is illegal and must be removed right away.
The order was given by the court during an important meeting. Many government officers were present. These included people from the Local Government Department, the Town Nazim, and the Deputy Commissioner.
The court also told the authorities to make a full report. They must tell the court what action they took. This report must be given within two weeks.

A lawyer named Haseeb Jamali spoke in the court for the person who filed the case. He said that service roads are very important. They help traffic move smoothly. He said these roads cannot be changed for other uses.
He also said that town officers do not have the legal right to change service roads into food streets.
The lawyer explained that illegal shops on service roads cause traffic problems. Cars get stuck. Accidents can happen. People’s lives can be in danger.

He said that keeping service roads clear is very important for public safety.
The town administration gave a written reply. They said the food street was made to help the public. They said there are 144 temporary shops and stalls on the road.
But the court did not agree with them. The judges said that no business is allowed on a service road.
The court ordered that the food street must be removed immediately. The judges said service roads must stay clear so traffic can move safely and people stay protected.
