Former Supreme Court judge Justice (R) Mansoor Ali Shah announces return to legal practice, mediation, and teaching after leaving the apex court.

Islamabad: Former Supreme Court judge Justice (R) Mansoor Ali Shah has said that he is going back to work as a lawyer after leaving the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

He shared that he will now work on legal cases in Pakistan and also in other countries. His work will include helping people solve legal problems, talking between two sides to end disputes, and giving legal advice. He wants to help people by using his long experience in law.

“I believe legal guidance should be accessible to everyone, not just in courtrooms but also for ordinary citizens seeking help,” Justice Shah reportedly said.

Continuing Teaching and Mentorship

Justice (R) Mansoor Ali Shah also said that he loves teaching and wants to continue it. He will keep teaching law to students and young lawyers, sharing the knowledge he gained as a judge so that others can learn and grow professionally.

He is now working as a teacher at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), where he guides students, assists young lawyers, and participates in research activities.

“Training the next generation of lawyers is as important as practicing law itself,” he stated during a recent discussion on legal education.

Reason for Leaving the Supreme Court

Earlier, he explained that he left the Supreme Court because of his principles. Justice Shah emphasized that his decision was based on honesty and adherence to his values and beliefs.

“Integrity in public service is not negotiable; I made my choice based on what I believe is right,” he added.

Justice Shah’s return to legal work and teaching shows a dedication to both practical law and legal education. His move is expected to positively impact Pakistan’s legal community, offering mentorship and guidance to both professionals and ordinary citizens seeking justice.
