Neuralink to begin mass production of brain-computer interface devices in 2026

Elon Musk has made a big and important announcement about the Neuralink chip. He says that this chip could restore full movement to the human body in the future.

“I am now absolutely convinced that full physical movement can be restored with Neuralink.”

Neuralink’s Potential

According to 54-year-old billionaire Elon Musk, his brain-computer interface company Neuralink is gaining enough potential to potentially restore full-body movement.

Elon Musk wrote in a post on the social media platform X:
“I am now absolutely convinced that full physical movement can be restored with Neuralink.”

How It Works

This new development is related to Neuralink’s work on a part of the brain called the motor cortex. The motor cortex is the part of the brain that controls body movement. This technology could benefit people who have suffered severe spinal cord injuries.

Tesla founder Elon Musk said in a video:
“Neuralink can connect nerve signals from the brain to the part of the neck or spine where the nerves have been damaged. The science says it is possible to restore full-body.

Experiments and Human Trials

Elon Musk said that this technology, connected to the motor cortex, was first presented in 2022, but its experiments on humans began last year.

In September, Neuralink released some data, showing that a device called N1 had been implanted in 12 patients, allowing them to control their bodies and digital devices.

Mass Production and New Breakthroughs

The development comes after Elon Musk announced earlier this week that Neuralink would begin mass production of brain-computer interface devices in 2026.

On January 1, Neuralink announced another major breakthrough. The company said it is trying to restore vision, even in people who are born blind, through a brain implant chip called “Blindsight.”

The goal of this latest step is to transform Neuralink from a research-only company into a large company that mass-produces medical devices and improves people’s lives.
