Strong winds increase chill factor as temperatures remain low across the Karachi.
Cold weather continues to grip city and is expected to remain throughout the week, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). Strong winds were recorded yesterday and today, making the weather feel even colder in the city.
The Deputy Director of the PMD said that wind speeds reached up to 45 kilometers per hour. Because of these strong winds, the intensity of the cold has increased across different areas of city.
The PMD Director stated that temperatures may start to rise in February. He also mentioned that two to three western weather systems are likely to affect the country during the month. However, he clarified that no rain system is expected to impact city in the coming week.
According to the Meteorological Department, Jinnah Terminal and nearby areas were recorded as the coldest parts of the city. The minimum temperature at Jinnah Terminal was 10.2 degrees Celsius.

In Mauripur, the minimum temperature was recorded at 14.0 degrees Celsius. On Shahrah-e-Faisal, it dropped to 12.5 degrees Celsius. Gulistan-e-Johar recorded 11.5 degrees Celsius, while Bin Qasim saw a minimum temperature of 12.4 degrees Celsius.

Overall, the department said that cold weather conditions will continue in city for the next few days.
