Digital Billboards in Karachi reportedly hacked, showing inappropriate content on major roads including DHA and Shahrah-e-Faisal.

KARACHI: Some unknown hackers attacked digital billboards in Karachi. These screens were placed on DHA Khayaban-e-Ittehad Road and Abdul Sattar Avenue. For a short time, wrong and inappropriate content was shown on the screens.

Videos of this incident were shared on social media very fast. Many people became worried and angry after watching them. After public reaction, the authorities quickly took action and turned off the screens.

As a safety step, authorities closed many digital screens. These screens were not only on DHA main roads but also on Shahrah-e-Faisal and Karsaz Road.

The National Cyber Crime Agency and the Cyber Crime Unit started an investigation into this matter.

Officials said they are collecting technical proof. They want to find out who hacked the screens and showed the wrong content.
