Public Holiday Announced in Schools on Shab-e-Meraj

Sindh government declares holiday in all public and private educational institutions on January 17.

The Government of Sindh has announced a public holiday in the province on the special day of Shab-e-Meraj. A notification has been issued by the government. According to it, all public and private schools and colleges will remain closed on Friday, January 17.

The notification says that this holiday will be for all educational institutions in Sindh. This includes schools, colleges, and other learning centers. The holiday is given so that students, teachers, and school staff can take part in prayers and religious gatherings on Shab-e-Meraj.

“The holiday allows students and teachers to observe Shab-e-Meraj with full devotion,” said an official of the Sindh Education Department.

The government also said that Shab-e-Meraj is a very important and holy night in Islam. Because of this reason, it was announced to help people observe this day properly. The Sindh Education Department has asked all schools and colleges to follow this order.

Shab-e-Meraj is remembered as a great miracle of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. On this night, Muslims offer special prayers, nawafil, and make duas. Many people, including students and teachers, are happy with this decision. They said it is a good step that respects religious feelings.
