Exam rescheduled due to Ramazan and Eidul Fitr; matric to begin from March 27, inter exams from May 20.
Lahore: The Punjab education boards have shared new dates for the matric and inter examination of the year 2026. The examination dates were changed because of the holy month of Ramazan and the festival of Eidul Fitr.
According to the new plan, the matric Examination will now start on March 27. Before this, the exams were going to start on March 3, but the boards decided to change the date for students’ ease.
The intermediate examination will start after matric examination. The inter examination for 2026 will begin from May 20. All education boards in Punjab, including the Lahore Board, will follow this same schedule.
“The revised schedule aims to reduce pressure on students during the holy month of Ramazan,” said a senior official of a Punjab education board.

The boards also told students about the form submission dates. Students can submit their examination forms with a single fee until February 11. After this date, students will have to pay more money.
From February 24, students will need to submit their forms with a double fee. If a student still misses this date, they can submit the form later with a triple fee. The last date to submit the form with triple fee is March 9, 2026.
In Lahore and other areas of Punjab, the matric examination will officially start on Friday, March 27. The boards asked students to study well, follow the new dates, and keep checking official updates.
