Britain cites Russia’s participation as reason for withdrawal, pledges to continue diplomatic efforts for Gaza peace.
The United Kingdom has stepped back from the Gaza Board of Peace because of Russia’s inclusion in it. British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper said that the UK was invited to attend and sign the Board of Peace meeting.
According to media reports from London, Cooper said that the UK decided not to attend the meeting because there was a possibility that Russian President Vladimir Putin might participate.
She added that the UK will continue to work with its allies to explore ways to contribute constructively to peace there.

“Peace in Gaza requires careful diplomacy and international collaboration, not unilateral actions.”

Yvette Cooper also emphasized that the United Kingdom fully supports former US President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan for peace in the Middle East.
The UK’s decision highlights ongoing geopolitical tensions and the challenge of coordinating international peace efforts in conflict zones like Gaza.
