Muslims across Pakistan will observe Shab-e-Barat tonight with respect and religious devotion. Special night prayers have been arranged in mosques, where worshippers will stay awake to offer nafl prayers and ask Allah for forgiveness.

During the night, believers pray for their own safety, the well-being of their families, and for peace and progress in the country. Mosques have also organized gatherings of Quran recitation, Zikr, Hamd, Naat, and Durood-o-Salam, creating a spiritual atmosphere.

The word Shab means night, while Barat refers to forgiveness or freedom. Shab-e-Barat is believed to be a night when Allah forgives sins and grants mercy. Muslims bow before Allah, sincerely repent for their mistakes, and promise to live better lives.

Across the country, mosques have been decorated with colorful lights. Famous religious sites such as Data Darbar in Lahore and Badshahi Mosque have made special arrangements, with large numbers of worshippers expected to attend prayers.

Many people also visit graveyards to pray for deceased relatives. They recite the Holy Quran and offer Fateha for their loved ones. Some Muslims observe a fast in respect of Shab-e-Barat.

To maintain peace and safety, strict security arrangements have been implemented. Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has ordered foolproof security across the province, while Lahore Police have deployed officers and Elite Force personnel at key mosques and sensitive locations.

Shab-e-Barat, also known as Lailat-ul-Mubarakah and Lailat-ur-Rahmah, is a night when believers seek forgiveness, pray for good deeds, health, and blessings. Religious scholars will also address gatherings, highlighting the significance of this blessed night for Muslims.
