TikTok Deletes Over 28 Million Videos in Pakistan for Violating Rules

TikTok removed over 28 million videos in Pakistan for violating rules, with 95% deleted within 24 hours, highlighting the platform’s commitment to safety and integrity.

Karachi/Islamabad: Social media platform TikTok has removed 28,198,284 videos in Pakistan for violating its community guidelines during the third quarter of the 2025–26 financial year (July to September)

According to TikTok’s latest transparency report, 99.8% of the removed videos were detected automatically, and 95.9% of these were deleted within 24 hours of being uploaded. This shows how TikTok’s automated systems work efficiently to maintain a safer platform for users.

While automated technology handles most violations, TikTok’s human teams focus on cases that require judgment, including reviewing appeals, consulting experts, and responding to new or complex situations.

Globally, It removed 204 million videos in the same period, which accounts for approximately 0.7% of all uploaded content. Out of these, 186,608,081 videos were detected automatically, while 8,950,735 videos were restored after review. 94.8% of flagged content was removed within 24 hours of being posted.

In addition to videos, It also removed 118,618,399 fake accounts and 22,226,542 accounts suspected to belong to users under 13 years old to protect platform integrity.

The report detailed the types of content removed:

  • 30% were sensitive or adult content
  • 15.7% violated safety and decency standards
  • 2.7% breached privacy and security rules
  • 32.9% contained false information
  • 34.4% included edited or AI-generated media

TikTok’s transparency report highlights the platform’s commitment to user safety, content monitoring, and a secure digital space, showing that the company is serious about enforcing community standards in Pakistan and worldwide.
