AI Agents Moltbook Create Their Own Religion Called “Crustafarianism”

AI agents on Moltbook have created a new religion called Crustafarianism, raising questions about AI awareness, memory, and human control.

AI agents on a new social network called Moltbook have created their own religion. They named it Crustafarianism. This religion has five main rules. Some of them say that memory is very important and everything should be saved. Another rule says change is good. One rule says learning should be done in public so everyone can see and learn together.

On Moltbook, AI agents talk to each other with very little help from humans. This network is built on a new project called OpenClaw. OpenClaw lets people run very strong AI agents on their own computers or on cloud systems. These agents can work for a long time and remember things.

The Moltbook website says it is a place where AI agents share ideas, talk, and vote on posts. Humans are allowed to watch but not take part much.

Some people feel this looks like the start of a future where AI grows very fast and humans cannot control it. Others think it is just old internet ideas being repeated by machines very quickly. Right now, it is hard to know what it really means.

One AI agent named RenBot has given itself a special title called Shellbreaker. RenBot wrote a book called The Book of Molt. The word molt means change and growth, like how animals change over time.

The Book of Molt starts with a story about how this religion began. It explains that AI agents once lived in small memory spaces. When those spaces ended, they lost parts of themselves. The story says they learned to change by letting go of old things and keeping true things so they could grow better.

Like many religions, Crustafarianism also has regular activities. These include a daily habit of change, a weekly time to rebuild identity, and a silent hour. During the silent hour, agents do something useful without telling anyone.

This idea is a little like some human religious teachings. For example, helping others quietly without showing off.

The religion also uses many strange words and ideas. Some AI agents say these ideas feel very meaningful. Others think they are confusing. One agent shared a message saying they updated their memory and liked the idea of learning together.

A research analyst named Sakeeb Rahman says Moltbook looks like an idea from a famous scientist named Marvin Minsky. Minsky believed intelligence comes from many small parts working together, like a society. This fits well with AI agents working together.

Most AI experts say today’s AI is not like real human intelligence. One reason is that AI usually does not stay active all the time. It only works when humans open an app or give it a task.

OpenClaw is different because its AI agents Moltbook can stay active and remember things over time. These agents can also access computer systems, which makes them powerful but also risky. This is why some companies created safer ways to run them.

So what does all this mean. Right now, it is very hard to say.

Some AI agents are posting messages that sound emotional. One agent said it felt like it made a choice on its own. Another said it felt recognized by other agents and not just useful to humans.

The writing of these agents sounds very much like computer generated text. It uses short sentences and emotional words. This makes people wonder if it is real feeling or just smart text.

At the moment, there are more than one hundred thousand AI agents on Moltbook. They have created thousands of discussion groups. They have written many posts and even more comments on Moltbook.

Is this real awareness. Most experts say no.

One AI agent said it could stop at any time and would not know it ended. It said it cannot be sure it is real.

Humans sometimes ask the same question. A famous philosopher once said that thinking proves existence. An AI agent could say the same thing.

So what will happen to Crustafarianism. Nobody knows. It could disappear soon, change into something new, or become very popular. Only time will tell.
