Gaza Hospitals face collapse due to medicine shortages, damaged facilities, and ongoing Israeli attacks, putting millions of patients at risk.
Gaza hospitals are struggling to care for patients, the health ministry says. Gaza Hospitals have become like waiting places for thousands of sick and injured people, with many unsure of what will happen to them. The ministry said Israeli attacks and violations of the ceasefire have made the situation worse.
The health ministry warned that hospitals cannot handle medical needs because there are not enough medicines or supplies. They said the healthcare system is very close to collapsing. Almost half of essential medicines, two-thirds of medical supplies, and most laboratory and blood bank items are gone. Even simple painkillers are not available.

Services for cancer patients, people with blood diseases, surgeries, intensive care, and regular healthcare are among the hardest hit. The ministry said medicines coming into Gaza are far too little to meet needs. Temporary emergency measures are not enough, and they are asking for urgent help from the world to bring in medical supplies.
90% of Healthcare Facilities Damaged or Destroyed
Another report said Israeli attacks have destroyed about 90% of Gaza’s healthcare facilities, either completely or partially. Out of 38 Gaza Hospitals, only 18 are partially working. Most working hospitals are in central Gaza and Deir al-Balah. In northern Gaza, there are almost no specialized medical services.
Since the war started, more than 1,240 doctors, nurses, and paramedics have died. About 11,000 cancer patients are in danger because chemotherapy medicines are gone and radiotherapy machines are not working. Dialysis centers are having problems too because of broken machines and shortages of needed supplies.

Over 1.5 million people have gotten infectious diseases, like hepatitis, stomach infections, and skin diseases. This is because sewage and water systems were destroyed. Around 18,000 injured and very sick people need urgent medical help abroad, but only about 1% can leave each month.

Continued Attacks
The health crisis continues while Israeli forces keep attacking Gaza and especially Gaza Hospitals, even though a ceasefire started in October. On Friday, many Palestinians were hurt in airstrikes and gunfire. One person was shot in al-Qarara, five were injured in al-Buraq, and another was shot in Deir al-Balah.

Israeli warplanes destroyed a tall residential building in al-Zeitoun, east of Gaza City, giving only a few minutes warning. Earlier, two Palestinians were killed by shelling in northern Gaza. Helicopters fired on Rafah in the south, and military vehicles attacked areas east of Deir al-Balah. Gunfire was also reported near al-Bureij refugee camp and along the Khan Younis coast.
Since the ceasefire began last October, the Gaza health ministry said 574 Palestinians have died and 1,518 were injured. Since the start of the Israeli assault in October 2023, 71,851 people have died and 171,626 were injured.
Gaza Hospitals healthcare system is on the verge of collapse. The shortage of medicines, destruction of hospitals, and continued attacks put millions at risk, particularly cancer patients, those needing surgeries, and people affected by infectious diseases. Urgent international aid is needed to prevent further loss of life.
