Korean Woman Harassed at Bengaluru Airport, Ground Staff Arrested

A Korean woman reported againts him, Airport security and police take action after CCTV footage confirms incident at Bengaluru airport.

A Korean woman has said that she was sexually harassed at Bengaluru airport in India. The incident happened when she was at the airport to travel back to Korea.

According to a report, the woman went to the airport on January 19. After she finished immigration checking, she was walking toward the terminal to board her flight.

At that time, a male ground staff member came to her. His name was Affan. He asked her to show her flight ticket. He told her that there was a problem with her checked luggage. He said a machine made a strange sound.

The staff member then told her that checking the luggage again would take a long time. He warned her that she might miss her flight. He also said that the checking process could be done quickly in a separate way.

The Korean woman said that Affan took her near the men’s washroom. She said she did not agree and tried to stop him. Even then, he touched her in a wrong way. When she tried to push him away, he hugged her and then left after saying thank you.

The woman immediately told airport security about what happened. The security staff caught the ground staff member and handed him over to the police.

“Airports must be safe spaces for all passengers, especially international travelers.”

The police checked the CCTV cameras at the airport. After watching the footage, the authorities confirmed that the incident had happened. An investigation is now underway, and legal action is expected to follow.
