National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency cautions users on Social Media against sharing unverified content or fake news.
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has issued an important warning for everyone using social media. They said that even a single wrong click or sharing unverified information can get people into serious trouble, including jail.
According to NCCIA, users should always check the truth before sharing any post, news, or link. Sharing something without verifying it can be considered a crime under the law. The agency also warned that spreading false news or unverified information about high courts or government institutions is a very serious offense.

The advisory explained that under PECA (Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act) Section 26A, sharing fake news can lead to up to 3 years in prison and a fine of up to 2 million rupees. NCCIA advised people to stay away from hate speech and fake news and to use social media responsibly.
They emphasized that only by being careful and responsible can citizens help make the internet and social media safe for everyone.
