Pakistan’s support for Palestine is unwavering.

The commitment was conveyed by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, during an open debate at the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue.
Addressing the Council, the Pakistani envoy stated that we stands firmly with the Palestinian people and that its solidarity remains constant under all circumstances. He emphasized that the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, carries a significant responsibility to ensure that discussions translate into meaningful and positive changes on the ground.

Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said the unresolved Palestinian issue remains a central cause of instability in the Middle East. He noted that Palestinians have endured decades of illegal occupation, loss of land, harsh treatment, and denial of fundamental rights, including the right to self-determination, the right to decide their own future.
Highlighting the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the ambassador described the suffering over the past two years as unprecedented. He pointed to the large number of civilian casualties, mass displacement of people, widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure, and severe shortages of food, clean water, and medical supplies.

He also expressed serious concern over continued violations of the ceasefire in Gaza. According to him, humanitarian organizations are facing restrictions, pressure, and even deregistration, making it increasingly difficult to deliver assistance to those most in need.

Calling for full respect of the ceasefire, the ambassador warned that military escalation, unilateral decisions, and provocative actions would only intensify the crisis. Such steps, he said, endanger civilian lives and undermine the trust necessary for achieving sustainable peace.
Pakistan reiterated that it will continue to work with the international community for a just, comprehensive, and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue, aimed at ensuring peace and stability across the region.
